Quadel offers a two-day Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS) course that covers the physical inspection protocol for PHAs. The training includes classroom lecture, discussion, and a mock inspection of a property supplied by your agency. This mix of abstract concepts and hands-on instruction serves as a comprehensive course for new front-line staff and as a useful refresher for experienced or supervisory staff. The training is designed to be useful for inspection and non-inspection staff and covers the basic UPCS requirements, including:
- Conducting and documenting an inspection
- Significance of Federal, state, and local housing codes
- REAC Physical Inspection process
- Health and Safety Standards
- Standards for buildings, units, exteriors, and common areas
Participants receive a copy of Quadel’s UPCS course book. All of Quadel’s course books are designed to serve as “plain English” reference manuals to assist program staff in their daily functions more efficiently after attending the UPCS training course.
Certification:
Quadel offers a certification examination on day-two of the UPCS course. The three-hour, open-book examination consists of multiple choice questions and short exercises. Participants who pass receive a formal certificate suitable for framing attesting to their proficiency in UPCS rules and regulations.
